Carget Auto Group, operating as Sell My Car Richmond ("we", "us" or "our"), explains here how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information when you visit this website or ask us to buy your car. We handle personal information in line with PIPEDA and BC's PIPA.

1. Information we collect

• Contact information: your name, and the phone number or email address you choose for us to contact you, plus the best time to reach you if you give one.
• Vehicle information: the year, make, model, kilometres, condition and any damage or accident history of the vehicle you want to sell, your postal code, any notes you add, and a photo if you upload one.
• Information needed to buy your car: if you accept an offer, the details needed to complete the purchase and transfer, such as your ID, the vehicle's registration and, if there is a loan or lease, the lender's payout details.
• Technical information: our hosting provider automatically records basic server data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to run and protect the website.
• Communication records: messages and call notes when you contact us by phone, text, WhatsApp, email or the online form.

2. How we use your information

• To review your vehicle and give you an offer
• To contact you about your request, using the method you chose
• To arrange pickup, pay you and complete the ownership transfer
• To pay off a loan or lease directly with your lender, if there is one
• To keep the records a licensed motor dealer must keep
• To protect the website and our forms against spam and fraud
• To comply with the law and resolve disputes

We use your information only for these purposes, or for others you agree to. We don't send marketing messages without your consent.

3. Cookies and tracking

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website: which pages are viewed, how people arrive, and whether they start or send the offer form or tap to call, text or WhatsApp us. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address and basic device and browser information. We don't send it your name, phone number, email address or anything you type into the form.

We don't use advertising cookies. If we add advertising or conversion tracking (such as Google Ads), we will update this policy first.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics on all websites with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking cookies won't stop this website from working.

4. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run this website and complete your sale, and only as much as they need:

• Netlify: hosts this website and receives and stores the offer form you submit. Netlify uses an automated spam filter on form submissions.
• Google (Gmail): our email provider, which receives a copy of each offer request so our team can respond.
• Google Analytics: measures how the website is used, as described in section 3.
• ICBC: receives the information required by law to transfer ownership of the vehicle when a sale is completed.
• Your lender or leasing company: if your vehicle has a loan or lease, so we can pay it off directly.

Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. If you don't sell us your vehicle, we delete offer requests when they are no longer needed to answer your enquiry. If you do sell to us, we keep the purchase records for as long as the law requires a motor dealer to keep them.

6. How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. This website uses HTTPS encryption for everything sent between your browser and our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights

Under PIPEDA and BC's PIPA you can:

• Access: ask to see the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
• Withdraw consent: withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits.
• Deletion: ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law.
• Complain: contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you have concerns about how we handle your information.
